Graves has been a inspiration to my listening, my playing, and my thinking. I've mused upon and presented the director Jake Meginsky's own playing and sounds, and those of his co-hort Neil Cloaca Young. So, I am very stoked to make the connect between you heads and this cinema event.
This highly creative film has been pulsing through the festival circuit this year, earned a New York Times Critic's Pick on the eve of it's theatrical run in NYC at Metrograph (where it has just been extended into a third week) and is turning on a whole new set to the professors' epic flow. Maybe you too! So, watch the trailer and get a ticket – let your heart stop for a moment, and go in!
Director Jake Meginsky will be in attendance for a Q&A following the 7:20pm screening tonight, moderated by me. Worth an advance plan or a hustle across town! If you can't swing it, consider catching another showtime in the next week, man.
